The Portugal Reckie Tour November 2017.

For those of us lucky enough to go on this fact finding tour it has to be said it was most excellent- except perhaps a bit heavy on the beer and pocket. However much fun was had by all and the golf suffered a bit due to El Capitano insisting on members participating in beer jovialities and staying out way past most peoples bedtimes. Villamoura was fairly quiet, but we managed to keep a few places open longer than they wanted!

The tour was won by the steadiest player on Tour - Philly The Kid who managed to post more than 30 points on all 3 golfing days. Astonishingly El Capitano took second place due mostly to his ability to keep everyone else sleep deprived! Albeit Philly managed to catch quiet a lot of zzzzs whilst staying out late- he has been around a bit and knows when to take a nap!

There are a few pics for all to enjoy please see below (click on the pics to see a large version):

There may be another reckie tour early April 2018, dependent on how much sunshine we get over Winter in the UK.  Those that are interested please mention to either Jules or El Capitano.  All that remains is to remind you all of the Christmas Salver on the 27th December at Royal Aston.

Another blog post will be forthcoming end of November informing you of the details of the salver.

Thank you, over and out.

John O'Gaunt October 2017 Results

Hmmm....was this a good course.........I think not. It probably falls into the above average, but not that entertaining....slightly Mickey Mouse. The set up was great. Lovely clubhouse, excellent service, ambient atmosphere, but not that challenging in my opinion. However that should not detract from the fact that I didn`t play great front nine, but BJ did as did Dan G. Overall the consensus was that it was a great course and a good society track. The weather was somewhat inclement, but did brighten up, so well done to the winners on the day who obviously put in a good effort-albeit Dave who won seemed to spend quite a bit of time teeing off again around the ladies tee!!

Here are some pics of the day:

Winners on the day:

1st Place - Dave Sendall - 38 points
2nd Place - Dan Hennessy - 36 points
3rd Place - Steve Crisp - 35 points (on count back)

Nearest the pins: Stuart Muir and John Scarratt Jnr

Team Winners: Dan Hennessy, John Scarratt Snr, Dave Sendall and Andrew Baxter

It was great for many of us to end up in The Horns pub for afters, we had a really good time playing cards and hope that people would join with us doing the same thing at Christmas after the salver.

The Christmas Salver day is on December 27th at Royal Aston (again).  Blog will come out requesting attendance at the end of November.

A big thank you to: El Capitano, Tim Mountain, Rocky, Danny H, Andrew Baxter for all their help in 2017 to make this society work!  Well done guys!  See you all at the Christmas Salver.

New Revised handicaps are below:

Over and out,
