However even though we were all sympathetic we couldn`t call off the Xmas Salver!
So on a beautiful crisp winters morning we all arrived at Royal Aston for this most customary of Christmas events- bit like the turkey dinner. There was 27 on the day with one still in bed - Mr Nick Miller- who had to be woken and cajoled into attending to get the numbers up to seven 4 balls- Nice.
Here are a few pictures of the attendees:
The scores on the day were as follows.........
1st place - Reece Pybus (39 points) Christmas Salver 2016 Winner
2nd place - Liam Walker (38 points)
3rd place - John Scarratt Jnr (37 points)
Nearest the Pin on the 2nd hole - Steve Marshgreen
Nearest the Pin on the 11th hole - Jules
Last place.......... the ever reliable Henry Mountain!!!
After the presentation we sloped up to The Horns for a few more festive beers and a game of cards.
And some of us had to carry on at The Plough in Datchworth as The Horns shut at 9 p.m.
Thanks on the day of the salver go to all that attended, particularly Rocky, El Capitano, Dynamo and TJ.
Cheers Folks!
