Results Christmas Salver 2015 & Wyboston

Both events had great turnouts.  So thanks to all of you for attending and hopefully enjoying your golf over 2015 with the Datchworth Golf Society.

It is without doubt that this golf society would not be what it is without the indomitable and almost papal Mr Steve Corley (almost MBE.... narrowly missing out again in this Year's honours list). What a truly remarkable man he is almost "Trump" like in his quest for integrity, honesty and belligerence to the cause of this now great golf society. We do truly love you Steve for everything that you do and even though we don't say it often enough we think you're great!! Hope this year, your 50th year is better than all the previous years.

And anyway enough of the sloppy stuff, now on to the golf results........ Amen!

Wyboston

The winner on the day was our very own Mr. 49, Dave Brown with a score of 37, followed by Martin Thomas with 36 in second place and Liam Walker with 34 in third.

Unfortunately we have no pictures of this event and have no further information, but well done Dave!

Xmas Salver 2015

A terrific turnout of 34 and unfortunately 2 late dropouts, so well done to the two 3 balls, hope it didn't detract from your day!

The weather was possibly the kindest it has ever been for this time of year even though the ground was exceedingly wet.  So well done to the eventual winners on the day which were:

Liam Walker in 1st place with 39 points, Tom Wood with 36 in second and Dave Bartlett with 35 points in third place.

Nearest the pins were won by Millie and Steve Marshmallow (who won two).

Team winners were: Liam Walker, Dan Gatfield, Nick Gudgin and Dave Bartlett and the best Rupert Bear trousers was won by Jerry Hare with the good 'ol Henry Mountain picking up the booby prize.

Many thanks once again to Trevor Johnson for his enlightening speech and presentation of prizes, thanks also go to Rocky, Andrew Baxter and Carl Barton for sterling work on the day.
