Christmas Salver 2011- Update. 30th December, ETA 8.30am.

Okay Guys, we have now a confirmed booking for Royal Aston. There are 40 spaces available, so it is strictly on a first come first served basis. We will need to know ASAP whether you are attending. We have paid a deposit to secure the tee times and so if you confirm and drop out you will have to pay a £15 fee-sorry about that. Anyway the good news is the day starts with a Full English breakfast. First tee off is at 9.30, so arrive please by 8.30. Followed by 18 holes of golf on the fantastic Royal Aston Course. Apres le golf there is a gourmet 2 course meal where you may mange tout and after this we will be presenting the prizes to the lucky winners. As previously mentioned there is a further celebratory guzzle in the Chequers in Woolmer Green.

Hatfield London Country Club - Results.

On a misty November morn a grand total of 29 stalwart Datchworth Golfers took up the challenge of this rather pleasant course. Some did rather better than others! Congratulations to Ed Coupland who took the coveted trophy home with a rather respectable 37 points on the day-won on countback from Neal Jeromson (2nd) and Phil Nightingale (3rd). The food was excellent and the company I hope good too on the day-it just needed a bit of sunshine to compliment things. Welcome to some new guys on the day Dean Lines, Allan Carolan, Jerry Hare, Brad Watt and Mike Hawkes. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves!

Thanks to everyone for adding £2 as a donation to the Poppy Appeal. We collected £65 on the day which has been forwarded on.

Christmas Salver 2011.

This years Christmas Salver is once again being held at Royal Aston in Stevenage. The date for your diaries is 30/12/2011. If there was ever a way to blow off the Christmas excesses this is it. Come and wack a golf ball around this famous course and have a good bit of banter with your golfing buddies. The best part of the day is usually at the 19th. We also encourage people to come out later to the 20th at the Chequers Pub in Woolmer Green. Its a big scalp this one- previous winners include ........Stuart Muir, Phil Nightingale, Andy Geraerts, Danny Horne. Usual society rules apply.

Arrive please between  8.30-9.00 am.

The format for the day is .......on arrival coffee and a full English breakfast. Followed by 18 holes of golf on the Old Course. After the golf a snack meal of sausage/mash and peas with the presentation of prizes thereafter. The golf society rules apply. Please if you are new to the society ask for a copy of the rules. On the day we will be playing for 1st/2nd/3rd and as usual a team event. We already have 30 confirmed, if you still want to come to the event then please contact me ASAP.
